Importance of Graphic Communication

When I was studying economics one of my professors said in an arrogant way that the graphs were a tool to lie mathematically, by changing the axes, origin points or line thickness the data can be manipulated in a way to create an illusion of false understanding in the audience. This applies to ordinary graphics as well, remember "buy this not this" series of images where the pictures on the packages does not match the ingredients and creates a distrust but also makes many others buy these goods, i just wanted to remind it. Good packaging, design, graphical communication will relay your ideas better.
